The fireworks are organized by the Ellsworth-St. Clair Lake Fireworks Committee, a group of volunteers that raise money locally through private donations, an annual golf outing and collection jars placed throughout this small community. This year the fireworks were held in conjunction with the Ellsworth Pig Roast making them the first in the area and the "Official Kick-Off to Summer in Northern Michigan." We were invited to watch the fireworks from our friend's boat. We anchored just outside of the safety bouey directly across the lake from the launch site. Several boats full of friends tied up to us. We had front row seating. From this viewpoint it was like watching the fireworks in 3-D. Truly spectacular! My favorites were these gold & white fireworks. They were a million little clusters exploding at once to produce one giant display that that filled sky. They were huge and so beautiful, like Queen Anne's Lace flowers. Our photos do not do these fireworks justice but we were able to catch the Grand Finale on video. We hope you enjoy the show! The Grand Finale |
