June Garden Report

It's officially summer. Hooray!
Here's the "official" Pillywiggins Garden Report for June. Our beds are filling in nicely and starting to bloom. Our shade beds are looking good so we decided to start work on a few new sun beds. We have one completed and a 2nd dug out ready for plants. It's a labor of love. I sometimes wonder if we will ever think our yard is finished. I'm guessing we won't call it quits until we've planted our little acre to maximum capacity and we still have plenty of room left.

It's Jason's hometown and host to the Ellsworth-St. Clair Lakes Fireworks.

We were expecting the storm that blew in last Friday. We watched it roll in off Lake Michigan. Dark skies, lighting, wind and rain, we watched it coming across the field right on time. About 5 minutes into the storm we heard a loud "Shoooop" that ended with a THUD! It was too dark to see what had happened but curiosity killed the cat. We grabbed a flashlight and headed out into the storm to investigate.
