Build a Bluebird House

1/28/2016

Our little acre is lined with bluebird houses and they always get plenty of use. It was time to repair and/or replace a few of the houses so Jason has been busy making repairs along with this video. We hope you enjoy it and build a few bird houses of your own. The bluebirds will appreciate it.

Update:

It's April 30th and two of our bluebird houses are now occupied but the new residents are not bluebirds. They're purple martins! Our bluebirds better shake a tail feather as new homes are moving  fast here at Pillywiggins Garden.

We're excited to be participating as a vendor at the Gardening Seminar & Luncheon hosted by MSU Extension and the Alpine Master Gardener Association. We have participated in many AMGA events throughout the years. They are always fun and informative.

Gardeners, you won't want to miss this event.
Shop garden related artist & vendor booths in between lectures. That's where we will be found with our gourd, glass & garden art. We have new creations for 2016.  We hope to see you there!

We will share our own art and garden projects, information on our upcoming events and take you along on our journey through the backwoods, gardens and galleries of Northern Michigan.

A little about us...

Pillywiggins Garden grew from a love of gardening, a newfound interest in gourd art and a handful of gourd seeds. Visit our About page to learn more.

Since childhood Jason has been exploring the woods & waters of Northern Michigan. His love of nature led to a career in landscaping & greenhouse management and an interest in all-natural, sustainable gardening practices.

I grew up on a dairy farm in mid-Michigan and I  have always loved to draw, color and create. I worked in office management for many years but my need for creativity eventually won out.  I now balance books with art and gardening.

Pilly...what? A Pillywiggin is a flower fairy found in English & Welsh folklore. Their duty is to protect nature and tend the spring blooms. Read more about Pillywiggins HERE.
