Kiln-formed Glass
Warm GlassGlass is an extremely versatile medium that can be worked in cold, warm or hot states. Warm glass, fused glass or kiln-formed glass is the process of working with glass that has been heated to temperatures ranging from 1,100-1,500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Archeological evidence suggests the Egyptians were fusing glass as early as 2000 BCE. Fusing was the primary method for about 2,000 years until glass blowing techniques were developed. |
