About Our Show

What makes the Winter Fantasy Art Show special? The artisans of course! Established in 2009, by local artists for local artists, the Winter Fantasy Art Show offers Northern Michigan artisans an opportunity to showcase their original handcrafted creations without direct competition between artists with similar items, styles or mediums and without any competition from manufactured and/or mass-produced goods. This is not your typical arts & craft show! Artists are selected for their unique work & exceptional craftsmanship. Each booth offers something new. with something special for everyone on your holiday list! Mark your calendars to celebrate Shop Small Saturday with your local artisans at the Winter Fantasy Art Show!

About The Venue

The Historic Elk Rapids Town Hall is a wonderful space to showcase local art with exceptional acoustics, beautiful woodwork & original tin ceilings. HERTH's rich history complements its beauty and charm.

• Constructed in 1883, the building originally contained a jail cell nicknamed "The Dark Resort"
• HERTH was used as a roller skating in 1884
• It was a quarantine house for Scarlet Fever in 1902
• And a gymnasium/basketball court from 1930's into the 1950's
• Citizen opposition saved the building from demolition in 1972. 
• Today it's the home of The Elk Rapids Players Theater Company​​​
